Our Methodology

We work hard to select only the best and most reliable long-distance moving companies to include in our list of recommendations.

Some of the factors our experts consider in the selection process include the company’s equipment, location availability, customer reviews, overall cost, and industry reputation.

With your best interests at heart, we thoroughly research each company and give honest, helpful reviews so that you can decide which company will be the best fit for you.

The Qualities of Good Long-Distance Moving Companies

As with any other industry, long distance moving companies tend to have different reputations across geographical areas. But how do you know what makes a good long distance moving company? Check local operations against our criteria:

Moving Experience

Inexperienced companies tend to make mistakes, and a long distance move is a big undertaking. Consider working with well-established companies for a task that requires so many moving parts across potentially hundreds of miles.

Company Services

Do you own items that need special care? Are you looking into storage options for some of your items? Are you moving overseas? Do you need long-distance movers that can help with packing? What about shipping your vehicle from Hawaii to Alaska? Check to ensure the company provides all the services you need.

Company Assurances

Can they provide any guarantee in writing? Ideally, movers guarantee the safe delivery of your personal items. At the bare minimum, they should have insurance. This way, if a mishap occurs, you know they have the means to cover the damages incurred.

Customer Service

How many times did you need to call the movers before you reached someone who could answer your questions? Was the person polite and professional? How willing were they to accommodate any special requests you might have? These are just some of the many questions you can ask when determining how good the service is.

Customer Satisfaction

Even the smallest businesses in America have a Google My Business or Yelp presence. You can also find detailed reviews of long-distance movers here on Moving Feedback. Check to see what people have to say and look beyond just the aggregate score, keeping in mind that even great companies get the occasional negative review, especially if they’re working with local subcontractors.

Recommendations for the 10 Best Moving Companies in America

Professionals at these establishments have built a strong reputation for delivering on their promises. They are also known for keeping customers happy and protecting your personal items during transportation.

Additionally, they have protocols (and insurance) in place to take care of any mishaps or mistakes that may occur.

1. Moving APT

Moving APT Claimed

4 Reviews

936 SW 1st Ave Suite 130 Miami, FL 33130

This company calls itself America’s number one interstate movers, and with good reason. It receives glowing reviews from industry experts and customers.

Moving Experience

Moving APT opened in 1999 with five guys and two delivery trucks. Over the years, Moving APT has learned all about the moving industry and logistics and has built strong relationships with key partners around the world.

Company Services

The company offers a wealth of services for those who need them, including:

  • International moving
  • Car shipping
  • Corporate relocation
  • Furniture moving
  • Packing services
  • Free limited storage

Company Assurances

Moving APT performs background checks on employees to ensure customer safety. The company is bonded, licensed and insured by the Department of Transportation. Note that the company now operates as a licensed broker, not a carrier.

Customer Service

In spite of its large size, Moving APT offers price quoting features on its website as well as price matching.

Customer Satisfaction

Customers have mostly good things to say about Moving APT. They share stories of a company that remains committed to ensuring their satisfaction. There were some criticisms related to the price, but overall, customers were satisfied with their experience:

  • Tasks were completed at the quoted price point and before set deadlines.
  • Workers were fun people and a joy to work with.
  • Customer service was excellent.
  • The company orchestrated stress-free long-distance moves.

Pros

  • Free non-obligatory quotes
  • Custom-made moving plans and execution
  • Price matching
  • Free storage as long as 30 days
  • Experienced and background-checked employees
  • Useful online pricing info

Cons

  • All moving services available except international moving services
  • Quoting processing long

Bottom Line

Because the company is a broker and not a hands-on mover, things can occasionally get complicated if something goes wrong with the process. In addition, prices might be a little higher than those charged by other long distance movers. For solid guarantees, great customer service and peace of mind, however, it is worth the price point.

2. Native Van Lines

Native Van Lines Claimed

19 Reviews

1205 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USA

888-809-1249

Across the board, Native Van Lines has even higher ratings than Moving APT. Even so, many consider it a less successful rival.

Moving Experience

The company has been in business long enough to obtain experience across the country. Despite the name, it does serve all 50 states as well as overseas territories.

Company Services

The company does not offer car shipping, but it does provide the following services:

  • Storage in transit
  • Corporate relocation
  • Packing services
  • Local and long distance moving

Company Assurances

The company is licensed, bonded, and insured to operate in all 50 states. It also offers a price match guarantee. While it promises to beat the rate of other reputable long-distance movers, it does not specify what it considers a reputable business.

Customer Service

Native Van Lines offers services to customers 24/7 and 365 days per year. You can also get a free quote via the website. In fact, the company is transparent enough with its prices to advertise a base rate of $1,599.

Customer Satisfaction

Native Van Lines averages 4.5 stars and higher across review platforms. Here are some of the things customers said about the company:

  • Workers struck the perfect balance between careful and quick.
  • Workers took great care of treasured antiques.
  • Movers arrived on time and were friendly.
  • Movers worked efficiently and completed work as scheduled.

Pros

  • All moving services available
  • Offers discounts on almost all moving services
  • Optional storage (but often included)

Cons

  • Quoting processing long
  • Irregular customer service

Bottom Line

The company is a great alternative to Moving APT. However, like its rival, it is a broker and not a carrier. A common complaint among customers on the Better Business Bureau is that the final cost of the move was higher than the quote.

3. Adams Van Lines

Adams Van lines Claimed

127 Reviews

3001 North Rocky Point Drive East, Tampa, FL 33607, USA

855-254-0416

Some would say Adams Van Lines is not as popular as the first two long-distance movers. Even so, it is about as well-loved by the customers who choose it. The company proudly exhibits two recent top-rated mover awards on its website.

Moving Experience

Although the company does not advertise how long it has been in operation, the owner has been in the moving business since he was 18 years old.

Company Services

The website does not explicitly mention international moves. It states that the company provides the following services:

  • Local moving
  • Long-distance moving
  • Cross-country moving
  • Commercial moving
  • Storage services

Company Assurances

Adams Van Lines’ promise is in the name: dedicated. While it does not guarantee its over-the-phone estimates, it stands by its quotes “95% of the time.”

Customer Service

The website language is very informal and speaks of personal passion. Whether this is a good or bad thing depends on you. If your personal preferences are a one-on-one business experience with friendly owners, this may appeal to you.

Customer Satisfaction

On one moving review website, this company amassed more than 3,200 reviews. Even more impressive is that these reviews averaged around 4.5 stars. Review comments included the following observations:

  • The company was transparent about the costs and the moving process.
  • Workers were warm, friendly and felt like family.
  • The move took less time than quoted and came in under budget.
  • The well-organized workers showed exceptional attention to detail.

Pros

  • Serving all the 50 states of the United States
  • Background-checked employees
  • Responsive online customer service chat
  • Binding estimates for moves

Cons

  • All moving services available except international moving services
  • Not enough information on the company’s platform.

Bottom Line

Dedicated Van Lines uses subcontractor long distance movers like the first two companies listed here. Some customers felt the company was unprofessional, but overall, the company produces happy customers.

4. iMoving - Online Moving Marketplace

iMoving Claimed

2 Reviews

175 SW 7th St STE 1811A Miami, FL 33130

This long distance moving company presents itself as a moving marketplace instead of a mover. It is transparent about its role in connecting people with other companies that handle the move.

Moving Experience

The experience of the company handling your move may vary. However, iMoving hand-picks its movers, and they must have at least two years of experience to be eligible.

Company Services

So far, this is the only company named that makes provisions for DIYers who prefer to drive their own trucks instead of hiring long-distance movers. These are its listed services:

  • Local and long-distance moving
  • Packing and unpacking
  • Storage services
  • Special handling

Company Assurances

Company reviews are transparent, and three-star-or-lower companies are automatically removed from the iMoving system. The company also waits approximately three days after final delivery to charge the last payment. This gives customers time to check their belongings.

Customer Service

iMoving provides 24/7 support. If you’re on a budget, you can filter results on the website by price. When you pay, the company guarantees secure online transactions. While the company facilitates international moves, it does not service Hawaii or Alaska.

Customer Satisfaction

iMoving receives high ratings from its customers across the board. This may stem from its commitment to removing low-rated movers from its platform. Customers noted the following:

  • Workers were patient and friendly.
  • Items arrived in perfect condition.
  • Workers followed COVID-19 guidelines while moving belongings during the pandemic.
  • The company was flexible and agile enough to make provisions for some last-minute changes.

Pros

  • Local and international moves
  • Many additional services available
  • Delayed payment option
  • Responsive website
  • Much information on the company website

Cons

  • Need to check for its availability, if yes, you are good to go
  • Many consumers are using them, so book earlier

Bottom Line

The company tends to cost less than many other long distance movers, as confirmed by its customers. However, some customers complained of having their reservations canceled at the last minute. Those who enjoy shopping on the internet will like the ability to compare quotes.

5. Pricing Van Lines

Pricing Van Lines Claimed

3 Reviews

901 Pennsylvania Ave STE 3-369 Miami Beach, FL 33139

This is a long-distance moving broker that specializes in organizing the move from start to finish. The company dedicates its efforts to creating happy customers.

Moving Experience

Pricing Van Lines is almost 20 years old. It has used this time wisely to develop logistics relationships across America.

Company Services

The company has not expanded into international moving. Instead, it focuses on the following services:

  • Cross-country and out-of-state moving
  • Corporate moving
  • Furniture moving
  • Piano moving
  • Office removal

Company Assurances

Pricing Van Lines offers no explicit guarantees. As a broker, it is licensed, bonded and insured. While it does not guarantee the quality of work from its subcontracted long-distance movers, it does complete background checks on them.

Customer Service

The company offers 24/7 customer support via chat or phone. You can also easily request a quote via the website. Some customers report that Pricing Van Lines assigned them a direct point of contact that supervised their move.

Customer Satisfaction

Pricing Van Lines has great reviews across most platforms. These are some compliments provided by customers:

  • They came highly recommended by others.
  • They moved the customer four times with no issues.
  • Workers at the company were professional and efficient.
  • The cost was affordable.

Pros

  • Available nationwide
  • Instant online quotes
  • Availability of short- and long-term storage
  • Cleaning services
  • Online shipment tracking system available

Cons

  • Unstable customer services

Bottom Line

The instant quote and shipment tracking features will appeal to a wide range of movers, especially younger ones. However, the company does have a few lower-than-expected long distance movers reviews on Yelp that customers should check before making a choice.

6. Dedicated Van Lines

Dedicated Van Lines Claimed

4 Reviews

3419 Virginia Beach Blvd #5014 VA 23452

844-368-3560

This company averages almost five stars on several platforms. They customize services to meet the needs of their customers.

Moving Experience

The company opened its doors in 2002. It estimates that it has moved 1.2 million people in the past decade alone.

Company Services

Dedicated Van Lines liaises with 500 local agents across the country to provide the following services:

  • Short-term or long-term storage
  • Full-service packaging
  • Long-distance moving
  • Corporate relocations

Company Assurances

The company makes no explicit guarantees. Like all other established long distance movers in the industry, it is bonded, licensed, and insured. Some sources say the company provides binding estimates, but customers say otherwise.

Customer Service

The company takes a more personal and tailored approach to move. To accomplish this, it considers people’s budgets, needs, and preferences.

Customer Satisfaction

Dedicated Van Lines’ commitment to customer satisfaction over the years seems to have paid off. The company even has a 4.26-star rating on the Better Business Bureau, which is almost unheard of. These are some comments customers have made:

  • The company safely returned glassware, furniture and other fragile items.
  • The company pivoted quickly, despite the customer changing the moving date twice.
  • The quote for the move was reasonable.
  • The movers were punctual and efficient.

Pros

  • Trusted Flat-rate pricing and price matching
  • Experienced and background-checked employees
  • Certified and professional antique and piano movers
  • Binding estimates

Cons

  • Consistent phone calls
  • Online quotes not available

Bottom Line

You would be hard-pressed to find bad reviews of this company. Those that do exist stem from subcontracted long-distance movers charging a different price than the quote provided by the company. Overall, this is an excellent company to work with.

7. United Van Lines

United Van Lines Claimed

St. Louis, Missouri

877-740-3040

This company takes a more modern approach to moving people across the country. As a result, it may appeal most to younger people.

Moving Experience

It is one of the oldest and most established long-distance movers in America. It started as Return Loads Service in 1928 and served as a commercial transportation company. The company became United Van Lines in the 1930s, after suffering losses in the Great Depression. It then went on to find economic success. In the past decade, it has moved 1.2 million customers.

Company Services

As one might expect from a well-established company with a board of directors, it offers a much more diverse portfolio of services:

  • Long-distance and international moves
  • Small and local moves
  • Cleaning services
  • Storage
  • Car-shipping services
  • Military moving services

Company Assurances

The company is licensed, bonded and insured. Additionally, the General Services Administration has approved it for military relocations.

Customer Service

You can request a quote online. Instead of in-house visits, customers can do a video call and professionals provide an estimate from there.

Customer Satisfaction

United Van Lines receives high industry ratings. Here’s what customers have to say about their experience with the company:

  • Workers did everything with care and respected personal property.
  • Workers were efficient and kind.
  • This company provides above-average service, great rates and friendly service.
  • The company was honest and upfront about the full cost from the start.

Pros

  • Extensive service packages
  • Expansive network
  • Approved by GSA for military relocation
  • Reliable moving services

Cons

  • More expensive than some van lines companies
  • Uses affiliate movers
  • Do not move vehicles

Bottom Line

The company is on the pricier end and may best serve the needs of career professionals and higher-income families. In spite of this, the price rarely comes up in long-distance movers reviews. If you are willing to pay more for superb service, this may be the company for you.

8. Two Men and a Truck

Two Men And A Truck Claimed

7 Reviews

3400, Belle Chase Way, Lansing, MI 48911

877-720-0411

This company is as unpretentious as its name. They are a diverse group of movers who are eager to serve.

Moving Experience

Despite the young, startup feel of this company, it is more established than many of its rivals. In fact, the owners have been in the moving industry for three decades. During this time, they have moved millions of families across America.

Company Services

The company provides the main services you might be on the lookout for, such as:

  • Local moves
  • Long-distance moves
  • Packing and unpacking
  • Storage
  • Piano moving

There is no mention of international moves or shipping vehicles.

Company Assurances

Two Men and a Truck is licensed, bonded and insured. The company assures customers that long-distance movers receive proper training to navigate even difficult situations safely, such as moving furniture up or down steep staircases.

Customer Service

The company slogan is “Movers Who Care.” This goes beyond just getting customers moved. Community service initiatives include donating $3 million to various charities in 2019. The company also tackles animal welfare, women’s safety, and poverty.

Customer Satisfaction

Despite years in business and brand familiarity, the company does not have a lot of online reviews. Platforms that host reviews for it do not paint the best picture. Criticisms include no price-matching feature, a complex online estimate process and some issues with customer service.

Pros

  • Numerous moving customization
  • Local movers with many personalities
  • VALUE FLEX® program that enables savings

Cons

  • Some hidden fees
  • No online quotes

Bottom Line

Two Men and a Truck has wide quality differences across locations, but its local differences are part of its charm. If you are in an area where the company has a great reputation, consider it. It might also appeal to you if you prefer to support companies that commit to giving back to local communities.

9. Mayflower

Mayflower Moving Claimed

St. Louis, Missouri, United States

888-368-4689

Like Two Men and a Truck, Mayflower’s reputation varies across locations.

Moving Experience

Despite hiccups in its review-based branding, the company is a century old, making it the oldest on the list. It has moved millions of families across four generations.

Company Services

Mayflower has invested heavily in expanding its services beyond the norm. It offers both packing and moving services and includes international moving. The GSA has also approved it to complete military moves. These are some unique items the company will move for you:

  • Vehicles, including boats
  • Pianos
  • Above-ground pools
  • Hot tubs
  • Oversized furniture and appliances

Company Assurances

The company offers several assurances for your peace of mind. It provides full-value protection for the items it moves on your behalf. This will compensate you for damaged and missing items. For even more peace of mind, consider using its shipment tracking feature.

Customer Service

The company offers personalized moving options for its customers. It also helps customers start planning as much as eight weeks ahead for the big move. The company’s online chat feature runs 24/7, and you can request a quote online.

Customer Satisfaction

Older long-distance movers have been able to build and grow clientele based on word of mouth. Because of this, they do not always invest as heavily in attracting online reviews. This can lead to people only reviewing them when something goes wrong. This may be the case with Mayflower, which has averaged ratings as low as 1.5 stars out of five.

Pros

  • Available throughout the nation
  • Full-service moving solution
  • Custom-made moving packages

Cons

  • Cumbersome online quote process

Bottom Line

The company has an established reputation in the moving industry. Even so, bad experiences fill their online reviews. Vet your local branches carefully before choosing them. If you have a good local option, you can’t beat 100 years of moving experience.

10. Wheaton World Wide Moving

Wheaton World Wide Moving Claimed

8010 Castleton Road Indianapolis, IN 46250

866-784-2348

This is another established company with a great reputation within the moving industry but a poor reputation online. In spite of this, the company has been successfully orchestrating international moves since before 1960.

Moving Experience

Wheaton World Wide Moving began operations in 1945, shortly after World War II. By 1973, it was the first long-distance moving company in America to become authorized by the Interstate Commerce Commission to operate in all 50 states.

Company Services

The core focus of this company’s business is to complete long-distance and international moves. It also provides the typical packing and moving services for the following types of moves:

  • Government and military
  • Household
  • Specialized
  • Corporate relocation

Company Assurances

Wheaton World Wide Moving provides protection for the valuables it transports. This gives customers peace of mind, should something go wrong or go missing. This service comes at an additional fee.

Customer Service

The company makes it easy to request a quote online. After submitting information, an agent calls and schedules an in-home estimate. The agent helps you decide on the coverage you may need to protect your items. You can also purchase supplies directly from the company through its local networks of long-distance movers.

Customer Satisfaction

Wheaton World Wide Moving has top reviews that surpass four stars on some websites. On others, its rating can be as low as 1.6 stars out of five. Here is some feedback from customers:

  • The delivery was a breeze, and the company remained in touch from the start.
  • The costs were higher than the market average.
  • The company lost an entire patio set and dresser.
  • The men who unloaded the items were professional and communicated well.

Pros

  • Available across the nation
  • Packing supplies
  • Auto transportation
  • Short & long-term storage

Cons

  • No online tracking of shipment
  • Few customer reviews

Bottom Line

The company’s reviews are polarizing. Customers who love them really love them, and those who were disappointed with the services were quite unhappy. Checking the local reputation can do wonders to ensure you end up in the former camp if you use Wheaton World Wide Moving.

The Following Table Displays the Best Long Distance Movers

The Cost of Hiring Long-Distance Movers

Moving house with the help of professionals can be costly. However, some people are willing to pay for convenience, for reduced risk, for the peace of mind gained by working with a reputable establishment, or even for the joy of hiring people with whom they have good chemistry or shared values, so paying for their services is well worth it.

In general, you can expect to pay anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on the distance and amount of property being moved.

What Affects Costs

There are a few factors long-distance moving companies consider when determining how much your move will cost. Keep this in mind when determining if a quote is fair:

  • Larger homes and homes with more items cost more to pack and move.
  • Most companies charge separately for additional services, such as packing or debris removal.
  • Moving costs more during busy moving periods, which may vary across locations.
  • The distance of your move, especially whether it is international, heavily affects costs.

How To Save on Costs

Before requesting a quote from long distance movers, there are a few things you can do to reduce how much your move will cost you. Be sure to consider your personal limitations, such as time, physical strength, and driving ability.

Doing even one of these things can significantly reduce costs:

  1. Ask family and friends to assist with packing instead of hiring professionals.
  2. Reduce your moving load by donating as many things as you reasonably can.
  3. Rent a separate truck to carry your most-needed belongings and tow your personal vehicle.
  4. Consider hiring a truck driver or delivery driver directly to transport your items.
  5. Move between the 10th and 20th of the month to take advantage of slow periods.

Pro Tip

Remember the more items you have to move the more charge by your moving company or truck size. Ensure you decide right – not to move items that are no more useful to you or bulky items that can be replaced easily at your new destination. Don’t forget it is a long distance journey and not a local one.

The Long-Distance Moving Checklist

Long-distance moving can be a complex and anxiety-inducing process. You may worry that you will forget to complete a task or leave something behind. Using a checklist can keep you organized and reduce the risk of errors or forgetfulness. The long distance movers you choose may provide their own checklists. If not, consider the following items:

Contact Government Agencies

You may need to do more than just change over your license, registration and title. For instance, in some states, such as Nevada, you may need to pay the difference in taxes on vehicles bought outside of the state. When moving overseas, the emigration process may be even more taxing.

Contact Service Providers

From gas to the internet to USPS, contact all service providers in both locations to notify them of your move. Some companies may have partners in other states or countries that they recommend. Your cable or internet company might move your services themselves so you can enjoy uninterrupted access. USPS may only need a change of address.

Start Purging

When you remain settled in one area for some time, it’s surprising how much you can accumulate. Getting rid of items you don’t need or want can result in saving you money in the move. Purge by donating items, giving things to family and friends and tossing the rest. When purging, don’t forget the groceries. You will need to eat up those perishables.

Decide What Moves

Once you have downsized, you have a much better idea of what moves with you. Some items may remain in your house if you keep the property. You can place others in storage or ask family and friends if they are willing to house some of your belongings. When deciding what fits, figure out what items might be trickier to move because of age, size or value.

Organize Your Packing Schedule

If you don’t plan to hire professionals to pack your things for you, the sooner you start, the better. Don’t wait until the last minute. It’s a good idea to keep a written, photo or video inventory of all your items. You may want to pack one room at a time and then label all your boxes clearly. Be sure to note those that contain fragile items.

Choose Your Long-Distance Movers

Use the criteria provided above to determine what company may best suit your needs, whether you go with Moving Apt or U-Haul or a company in-between.  Keep your budget in mind, because a mostly stress-free move orchestrated by professionals might not be worth it if it causes too much financial strain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally, anything further away than 100 miles from the original location may count as a long-distance move. Companies usually calculate the distance using driving or shipping miles, not the linear distance.

It’s generally less expensive to move when moving companies are not very busy. January is typically one of the coldest months of the year and one of the least common periods to move. You can also save money when hiring long-distance movers by moving in the middle of the month because most leases end on the last or first day.

Companies usually provide a nonbinding estimate based on written information provided. They may prefer to review the items you will be moving before providing a more solid quote. This estimate may change once the company has more information.

It depends on the company and the specific move. People’s collections of personal items are unique, so estimates and how long-distance movers approach them must be unique as well. To calculate weight, companies usually multiply each furnished room by 1,500 pounds. Note that some moving services charge by the hour.

A local move below 100 miles costs an hourly average of $80 to $100 per two movers. An interstate or long-distance move, on the other hand, is greatly expensive, costing an average of $2,000 to $5,000 for one move above 100 miles.

The following factors determine relocation costs:

The distance moved
The weight of your things
The size of your house or apartment
The amount you tip your movers’ crew

Most long distance movers will offer packing supplies as part of the quote, but there are other places to find what you need and sometimes for much less money. For example, the popular moving company Two Men and a Truck features an entire “moving marketplace” on their website where people can buy all sorts of moving and supplies, from boxes, to bubble wrap, to packing tape.

You will also find that the popular DIY truck rental company, U-Haul, has set up an online supply exchange where people who have recently moved can trade, give away, or sell their unused moving and packing supplies.

When you book a moving day with a long distance moving company, you shouldn’t be expecting to whip out your wallet for a while. Most quality movers don’t charge deposits, instead opting to collect payment when the job is complete.

Make sure all the details related to payment are clearly spelled out and defined so that both parties are on the same page. Your movers should be able to tell you how much the job is going to cost, when the payment will be due, and whether or not you can expect any extra fees when you have your meeting to receive your estimate.

If you’re worried about a piece of mail not arriving while you’re moving everything to your new home, then you have a couple of easy options. First off, contact your current post office to request that your mail be forwarded to your new address. This way, when you get to your new home, any mail that might have come in will be right there waiting for you.

You can also set up a PO box to receive new mail. For a certain fee, you can rent a box from the post office and have all of your mail delivered and securely held there until you come to pick it up.

Mail can be a confusing topic when you’re in the middle of moving across the country, but luckily, continuing to be able to receive mail during this process really is that simple.

Make the Right Move

Long-distance moving can be the adventure of a lifetime, but it does come with its stressors. Partnering with the right moving company for you can make all the difference in making the process smooth and worry-free.

Jeez. Long distance moving is really like the most stressful thing one can undergo. If you don’t do well with stress, I’ll advise you to just allow the professionals to handle this every step of the way so you don’t get too pressured as it’s not a simple task.

Wow. How this article about top long-distance movers of 2019 has just made the whole thing a lot easier for me. Well, now I won’t have to think much about which moving company will be the best or what to look out for when doing the move.

  3. Realface says:

The cost of long-distance travel is way more than I actually thought it would be. I’m sure going to search for one that will work around my budget and see if there’s anything I can do to make it less expensive or something.

  4. Hope says:

With different sized trucks and workers in both storage and local moving facilities, United Van Lines can make your move a lot easier. Both you and your belongings can be moved even cross country without limitation. They have got a good reputation and only one trial made me choose them over and over.

  5. Cornell says:

I’m impressed. These moving trucks all seem like the best and right now, I think I’ll make the choice when I see their quotes. I want this my move to be stress-free while also not letting me break the bank to achieve that.

  6. Victoria says:

Huh? I never really thought about using up perishable items and items that cannot be moved to the new house. I’ve got some paint and frozen foods and we are moving in a few days. Well, since obviously, we can’t use them up, I’ll consider giving them out. It never crossed my mind that it could destroy my other belongings. Thanks for the reminder.

  7. Fred says:

When moving from one state or country to another, it’s just a normal thing for the moving process to take an emotional and physical toll on people. My own experience was something else and honestly, I’ll always recommend people leaving the work to the professionals and saving their strength for the work after moving in. United van lines got this part covered and it’s impressive that they don’t have any negative review so far. They live up to their promise and are the best you can get.

  8. Mellinda says:

I cannot say how important it is for you to put a call to the long-distance moving company a few days to the move to verify that the moving arrangements are still the same. I was all relaxed and waiting for my moving day only to call them that morning and be told the most shocking thing. They actually rescheduled for me and sent a mail which ended in my spam box. This would have been fixed if I had kept in touch.

  9. Madison says:

Yes, I think it’s important to have enough cash to tip the movers because they sure were a part of your moving success since just can’t do all that on your own plus it will be nice to be on their good side just in case you need something else along the way.

I recently used a1 auto transport, inc. and had a good experience with them. Helped me with moving from North Carolina to Arizona and were on the cheaper end compared to others. They also shipped a motorcycle for me which was helpful. Not sure if all moving companies do that or not. Either way I’d definitely recommend them and use them again if I needed to move.

I completed my move last week. I had very easy and smooth communication with U-Pack. I was given an estimate over the phone from them and my move came out to be within 100 lbs of their estimate! They were very communicative over the phone and very helpful throughout the way. I commend the level of professionalism that they maintain and would choose U-pack again!

Our moving process was great – thanks to this awesome platform and also to Atlas Van Lines. They worked diligently and carefully, completing the move within the timeframe promised. Even though I have worked with a couple of movers in the past, I can boldly say that none of them matches up to Atlas Van. The guys are really wonderful. I would use them again.

  31. Jenny says:

The moving crew I had was absolutely fantastic. I have moved plenty of times over the years, including from Seattle to Tampa and never have I experienced more professionalism than I did from MayFlower’s crew. They rolled out the mats, wrapped everything securely and took things that my mother asked if it would fit, to make my car trips easier. They did it with no problem. They were friendly, courteous and above all, a nice group of men that definitely worked above and beyond the call of duty. If I ever move again, I will want to have Mayflower move me again.

  32. Alex says:

We hired Atlantic Group USA LLC to help move my mom. This was the first time hiring movers as I had always heard horror stories of broken belongings and high prices. Atlantic Group USA LLC exceeded all expectations! They were prompt, professional, courteous, and fast! The price was also quite reasonable. I would highly recommend their services and will hire them when it is our time to move.

Thank you for your post. Every state’s rules are different, however, so make sure to look into your specific state’s moving regulations first. When in doubt, your moving company should certainly be able to explain what constitutes a local move and a long-distance move within your state.

Moving is always a hassle 😉 But it is definitely worth the effort. Recently, I helped move my friend to a suburb of New York City from downtown. He had his own checklist to make sure he didn’t forget anything, as well as many different tokens that helped a lot, some of which he obviously looked at you 🙂 My friend was madly happy to move, because the proximity of nature and the lack of noise made his life better and calmer. Did anybody have the same experience of a successful move?
