Scam company and completely unprofessional.

1. Packing was $1,360 , quoted at $200 by move smart for ~30 boxes (please understand that I was not prepared for this and am willing to compromise on settlement of that number but that is a LARGE discrepancy)
a. Multiple boxes were packed poorly
b. None of the boxes were labeled with content
c. Multiple boxes were heavy so when unloaded we could not tell what went in what room and they put all the boxes in one room
d. Missed complete cabinets and left random things like one of my shirts, and a belt and a shower head
e. Broke a $75 Hue lightbulb

f. Check packing job that clearly lead to damages (will email pics)
i. Used my own dishcloths to wrap pictures that were not encased
ii. Completely damaged my $200 trashcan
iii. Scratches on multiple pieces of furniture, lamps, etc.
iv. Mattress cover was just some plastic wrap and exposed the mattress in multiple areas resulting in debris

2. Unload
a. 2 hours late was quoted 8 am by driver ; to your point he kept apologizing about traffic which is why he should not have said 8 am
b. Couldn’t find a way to assemble bed, took 1 hour to resolve that
c. Did not assemble shelving unit or place other bulky furniture in correct places
d. Did not come prepared – no efficient moving, used my apartments dollies
e. No tools – used mine

3. Could not get a hold of ANYONE at Brooklyn during the entire off load ; have tons of outgoing calls waited for 20-30 minutes at a time and no one picked up

a. Driver asked for $250 or so for long carry. The distance from the truck to my door is only 100 feet and is easy – this was also a point of contention at point of loading – these moves could not have been easier with full elevator access locked down – which also was painful as I had them locked at unload from 8-11 so we lost out on 2 hours

4. Could not get a hold of ANYONE at Brooklyn post move until almost 3 weeks later post-move. Tried multiple times, multiple days M-F during business hours of 8a-5p M-F. One lady did pick up started to talk asked me to hold…20 minutes later she comes back and said she would call me in an hour – that never happened obviously

Still unresolved claims and they refuse to cooperate.

One of the Worst Experiences

Absolutely awful. One of the worst experiences of my life. They seemed amazing at first, but turns out it was all an act. The company actually moving my stuff was Brooklyn Movers. The main guy was vaping inside my apartment and right in front of my face sometimes. His English was horrible. He told me that my quote was actually double AFTER they had already packed all my stuff up. (THIS IS ILLEGAL.) When I spoke to Gold Standard the day of and the days after, they kept telling me they couldn’t find any discrepancies and that I owed double the initial amount. Fortunately for me, I measured the cubic footage of my stuff beforehand and KNEW FOR A FACT that they vastly overestimated the amount. After consistently badgering and threatening them, they said they had the foreman double check the amount by unloading and reloading the truck. They said it was actually only 400 cubic feet instead of 600 cubic feet. That still was an overestimate, but I was pretty freaking tired of dealing with them at this point so I just went with it until I could file a federal complaint since they broke so many federal laws. (Trust me, I know because I looked it up.) Not only were they awful to deal with, but my bookshelf was broken during the move as well. This is just the summary of my nightmare. I could go into more detail about how awful they were, but I need to spend more time filing federal complaints on them. DON’T USE GOLD STANDARD OR BROOKLYN MOVERS.

Brooklyn Moving, Inc. rip off artists

Wish I could give them a negative 5!! Had a terrible experience and broken and damaged items. Took items they were not to take and left items they were to take and some things are missing. Overcharged the cu. ft. by almost double as I took an inventory and measured the boxes and bins and it is no where near what they charged. They didn’t listen to what we told them about what they were to take at all!! We felt pressured to sign the paperwork due to the slick willy they had as the moving foreman.

Brooklyn moving was extremely helpful in setting up our move.
We had to keep our items in storage for a couple of months and when we were finally able to have our furniture delivered to us – great storage prices everything was just as we had packed it. No damage to anything. The movers on both sides were extremely friendly and hard working. We definitely recommend Brooklyn moving for your re-locating needs.

I have a similar story, front tire was swapped on my bike, I have a box of someone else’s family photos. One guy went #2 in our bathroom without even asking to use the bathroom in the first place.

So many issues

They lost several of my belongings on a cross country move, and delivered me SOMEONE ELSES belongings. Then when I filed an insurance request, it was denied.

Their movers failed to communicate that it was my responsibility to complete an inventory of the items they were delivering – I was told to stay out of the way so they could do their job. Upon leaving, they demanded that I sign the form indicating all boxes were present.

Instead, I wrote “was not counted upon delivery. My signature does not reflect number of boxes delivered.”

Their insurance company rejected my claims. Even though a full count of my boxes would not have mattered since they delivered me boxes that were not mine.

Also, I have attempted for the last 6-weeks to get Brooklyn Movers to take back possession of the items which were erroneously delivered to me and they have zero interest in doing so. Be aware – if they lose your belongings… they’re somewhere, but Brooklyn Movers will do nothing to find, replace or return them to you.

Seems as if customer satisfaction is not a priority for them.

All this not even mentioning how stressful it was to even get them to deliver my belongings in the first place. It took weeks of phone calls, emails, texts and constant checking in with them to even get an answer. I would not recommend hiring them.

they worked hard and efficiently, they loaded a 4 bedroom house in just 3 hours. The movers were careful and thoughtful with me and my furniture and treated it as if it was their own. It feels wonderful that everything got to my new house on time and safe.I will use them again, that’s for sure!

My experience with this company was easily the best move I have had out of 5 moves. My salesman got my quote real quick and all the information that came from him was pretty clear. I liked his positive attitude, always trying to find a solution to all my concerns. Price was the best I could get for such a nice service!

I’d like to start off by thanking these guys for they really helped me out, I’ve moved several times before but this move was simply perfect. I have to admit I was adamant about moving since I had bad experiences in the past, but this company was amazingly effective and honest with me. I am very pleased that I chose them over the others. I would recommend without a doubt.

These guys are very professional, they always treat me with honesty and respect. Their tools, trucks and personnel are neat. They have excellent packaging that keep everything intact and clean. Everything was loaded and unloaded with care too, nothing got lost during the move and that’s something that I highly appreciate in a moving company. I’ll keep using them in the future.

These movers were absolutely great. I called this company because I needed reliable movers and they were all I was expecting for. It’s outstanding the way they organized, disassembled, loaded and unloaded all the things. They have a lot of expertise, it was so easy to deal with them. If you want to have a smooth and nice move call these guys.

Worst experience ever!

I have been waiting since June 28th for my stuff, it is now July 5th and still nothing. Tired of sleeping on the floor. No one answers their phones including the complaint department. If you do get someone they tell you will check on the order and call you back, which they don’t! Stay away from this bunch!
