We used Cross Country Moving to schedule our move from California to Florida. They booked Sky Vanlines to move us. The only good experience was pickup. If you decide to use these companies I would suggest you assume you’ll wait a month and prepare your items for very rough handling. Throughout this process we have been in contact with Cross Country Moving. Their customer service has been professional, but made promises they couldn’t keep. At the end of the day, they were sympathetic but unhelpful with our issues. They apologized, told us this was NOT normal, but weren’t able to do anything to make the process any better. Here is a brief list of issues: Lack of communication Unhelpful communication Long delays Delivered late (over a month from first available date) No care taken Damaged items Inaccurate paperwork Rude customer service We were originally supposed to receive our stuff Feb 24th. When we didn’t receive any emails we contacted the company and were just sent our contract to review. It states you may receive your stuff 7-14 days from your first available date (March 9 for us.) It also says they are required to deliver your items within 21 business days by federal law. For us, that would be March 24. We still expected to receive our stuff by March 9. What fools we were! March 9th came and went with no emails or correspondence. Since we had just been forwarded our contract for previous inquiries, we waited until March 17, a week before the last day they could legally deliver, to contact them. We were told it would be on a truck ASAP and got our shipment email with a estimated delivery window of March 23-26. We assumed the late delivery was because of the pandemic, but were told it was irrelevant. They had gotten to our stuff as soon as they could and it may even come before the 23rd since there was less traffic. The truck arrived on March 25th. We were so excited to get our stuff! As you can imagine, the pandemic was keeping us mostly home. We had spent about a month in an empty house waiting. We got our call from the driver that he was close! This is where we found out the delivery may cost another $300-$600 if the semi truck doesn’t fit on your road. We spend a good while contacting customer service and the driver about this, which again ended in us being forwarded the contact to read the fine print. Our point of contact for Cross Country Moving assured us that he checked ahead and the truck would fit on our road. Thankfully it did! But the truck came without our stuff! We heard their warehouse personal screaming at the driver that he KNEW it has to be there. The driver moved another persons stuff over the course of 2 hours. Nothing. We then had to contact customer service again to get our stuff reschedule to ship, still just sitting in California. At this point we asked for compensation. We got $125 off our $2256 total. We accepted this and were afraid to press on the issue since our stuff was still undelivered. After a month of waiting we were worried they wouldn’t deliver our stuff at all. After another week and a half, we got our stuff on April 6th, 2020. We found out from our final driver they had scheduled and failed to load our stuff 3 times and just didn’t tell us. All of our boxes are crushed, broken, or falling apart. Several items are broken. Our driver was great and took care as he moved it into the house, but the damage was already done. When we emailed customer service they told us our stuff was DELIVERED MARCH 14 and insisted they already sent us info on making a claim on March 18. The email felt accusatory, like we were trying to scam their company. After having to explain our situation, the customer service rep only replied with the claims link. Throughout this process it was a pain to even speak to someone, let alone get information about our stuff from them. I would not recommend either of these companies. I would like to think we have gone through the worst case scenario, but it seems like their contracts are set up for exactly this type of scenario. I am so grateful to our drivers for delivering and being so professional. It’s been the only good thing in this process. We just filed a claim for our broken items and do not expect anything in return. Our stuff didn’t cost a lot, but we did expect them to treat it carefully, like anyone else who pays for their service.

I moved to Florida the past month of October 2019. When the delivery was completed I noticed that my tool box was missing, then inmediately called the driver and he (Eric) told me that the box is going to be delivered next day. Obviously next day nothing happen. Next week nothing happen, next month nothing happen. I called Sky Van Line like a thousand times trying to make arrangements and she (Florida brunch in charge person) was very rude and told me that I am calling to her personal phone and that I have to stop calling and she can not do anything. They promised me many many times that as soon the driver come back for the next trip is going to be delivered. Well that never happen. So, I decided to open a claim with CSI claim service and to make the story short, after 3 months calling and waiting they sent me a check for $42. This is ridiculous, this "refund" don't even cover the box price. I am not going to used this company anymore and also will not recommend to nobody. Worst experience

Sky Van Line made our move as painless as possible. Everyone we interacted with was easy to work with - communicative, on time, and pleasant. The movers packed our items carefully, and never idled or wasted time. It took them about a week and half to deliver. At our new apartment, they carried our furniture and boxes to the correct spots/rooms without needing my direction on every single item. We did a long-distance move (Florida to California) and they arrived during the provided window date Highly recommend and will definitely use them for our next move!

Generally, moving is known to be stressful and tiring, but hiring the right moving company is the best way to go. I have tried it, and it worked for me. These guys surprised me beyond my expectation. The moving quote was moderate, the schedule was perfect, and had time for me before and during the move. They supported me in every area they could, and I was impressed to give them more. However, they told me they were doing their job. Sky Van Line is one of the best in moving on budget. On moving day, they appeared earlier enough and were ready to do some finishing touch in packing items into the boxes. Who else
