The workers were good but they charged more than double what I was quoted. I couldn’t do anything because I had to move. I called the office afterwords and no one has done a thing. Don’t use them unless you like paying twice the price!
David Green sent an email to me on Saturday afternoon notifying me that they could no longer come on Monday, July 19, 2021, which was my scheduled moving date with them. I booked a month ago. David Green stated GM needed to come a day early, but the crew would help me finish packing up. They would not charge for labor just materials. The cost to me ended up over $800! The salesperson’s estimate was extremely incorrect. The cost over doubled. Never will I move again without having a representative come to the residence prior to moving. The foreman came into my home and said they would told it was going to be a much smaller job. He contacted David and my quote went from a price by weight to a fixed price. David from GM told the foreman twice to unload the contents of the truck and leave everything on my driveway! This man was completely unprofessional and a bully to boot! Can you imagine this poor crew being told this after three hours of loading? The second time that David threatened this was at the end. I asked for a bike and a bbq to be added. David said it would be an additional $300. This occurred after I was told that the truck was dead. It would not start. David told Tito to unload the truck to which Tito replied, “I can’t bossman, the hydraulic lift will not go down.” How comfortable did I feel at this point? The truck was loaded but the truck would not start. I had to jump start their truck with my cables and my car. David represented this company poorly in my opinion. The matter in which he treated me as a customer and his crew was deplorable. David made zero concessions. I asked for a ten percent discount, the removal of the $300 for the bike and the bbq, and for the 4% credit card fee to be waived. To my knowledge, he only agreed to the removal of the 4%. In addition, they arrived without stickers to label the contents of my home and take a complete inventory. They ran out. Ask questions. Get everything in writing. Do not take anything you are told verbally as accurate. I certainly wish I had done so with their sales representative. Make them come to your residence and personally give a quote to you. There was a lot of miscommunication between myself and their salesperson. On a positive note, the crew was great! If you use GM, I highly recommend using Tito, Clifton, Marcus, and Will. As of July 24, 2021, I still have not received an inventory list. I would encourage the owner to review all phone conversations between all parties as they record them for this purpose.
Just run, don't use them is all I can say. They tried to deliver before I was even at my new place when they knew my move in date and wouldn't admit fault. This meant my things had to be moved four times, onto the truck, into storage, then again onto a truck and off of it into my new place. It was raining and the truck leaked, they ruined my $2k leather couch, broke lamps, lamp shades, soaked both of the boxes to my TVs, ripped handles off of things and completely lost the handles, lost the hardware to put my bed frame back together, just ruined thousands of dollars worth of my stuff and tried to offer $50 as a settlement. They make it as difficult as humanly possible to file a claim. They literally make you photoshop text onto each photo describing what it is and the price, then combine all of the photos onto one PDF that has to be a very small file size before you're able to upload it. Just filling out the online paperwork takes hours, they hope you get frustrated and just go away that is why the process is so difficult. Then when it's time to pay the small amount they finally settle on, David the owner will just absolutely ghost you. I've left so many messages for him and with other people at the company over months and he just never answers the phone or returns my calls. My pick up was at the END OF OCTOBER, it's July 15th and I still have nothing from them. So like I said, run away and run fast. Unfortunately we have choice them because they offered the better rate, also they were recommended by a friend. We have a few itens damaged which is acceptable for the distance, the moving arrived on time. However a few expensive itens were stolen during the packing, inside of my house. Stay away from this company.
Gm van lines was the most professional moving company I have dealt with. They sent some one out to give me an exact quote in advance. They were on time and did everything as described. It couldn't have been better. They called in advance of showing up. They made sure my things were ready and they protected my things. They. Are great. They handle it from A to Z.
