Ford Delivery Company opened it’s doors in the Haymarket area of downtown Lincoln, NE in 1915 as a small, family-owned local drayage company. In October of 1937, they were granted the first common carrier Certificate of Authority in the state of Nebraska, and expanded rapidly into interstate commerce, with offices nationwide. On May 1, 1941, Ford Delivery Co., Inc., changed its name to Ford Van Lines, Inc., and that’s how we’ve been known for nearly 80 years. We are currently one of the oldest continuously operating motor carriers in the US. Ford Van Lines was owned and operated by the same family from 1915 to 1999, when it passed to a long-time employee and then Vice-President, and it is still a family business.
